Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team to Thrill Hyderabad Skies at Wings India 2026

The elite Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force is set to deliver a spectacular aerial display over Hyderabad as part of the Wings India 2026 air show and aviation event. The performance is expected to draw large crowds and showcase Indian air power and precision flying skills.

Wings India 2026 is a biennial aviation industry event being held in Hyderabad and organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The event brings together aviation stakeholders, industry leaders, and aerospace enthusiasts from across the world to explore innovation, partnerships, and future opportunities in the sector.

The Surya Kiran team is one of the most recognisable aerial display units in India. Comprising nine BAE Hawk Mk-132 aircraft flying in close formation, the team has entertained millions of spectators across the country and abroad with precision aerobatics, including loops, rolls, and signature formation manoeuvres.

The unit is officially part of No. 52 Squadron of the Indian Air Force and has flown more than 700 air displays since its inception in 1996. It is known as the only nine-aircraft formation aerobatic team in Asia and one of the few such teams globally.

At Wings India 2026, the Surya Kiran display is expected to be one of the highlights of the aviation show, giving visitors a close-up experience of advanced flying skills and aerial precision. The team’s appearance aligns with the broader goal of showcasing India’s aerospace capabilities and promoting interest in aviation careers.

The event will also feature static aircraft displays, expert panels, and sessions with industry leaders, making it both a commercial and public celebration of aviation excellence.
