The battalion is designed for high-intensity missions and agile combat operations in varied terrain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Universal Rocket Launcher System (URLS) \u201cSuryastra\u201d was displayed for the first time at the parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is described as India\u2019s first universal multi-calibre long-range rocket launcher. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The system is designed to deliver surface-to-surface strikes at ranges of 150 kilometres and 300 kilometres. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The launcher can integrate multiple rocket and missile variants on a single platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A mixed scouts contingent appeared at the parade wearing heavy thermal combat gear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The contingent was led by Lieutenant Amit Choudhary of the 2 Arunachal Scouts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mounted contingent of the 61 Cavalry appeared in battle gear instead of ceremonial attire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Army assets and indigenous platforms advanced in phased battle array formations during the parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Republic Day ceremony opened with a cultural performance themed \u201cVishwaguru Bharat \u2013 Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Droupadi Murmu presided over the event, unfurled the national flag, and the ceremony included the national anthem and a 21-gun salute using indigenous 105-mm Light Field Guns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
